Wintek, whose October revenues stayed flat compared to September, expects strong demand for small- to mid-size panels to last through the fourth quarter, with touch screen panels being a driver of sales growth.
The company reported consolidated revenues of NT$3.19 billion (US$98.3 million) for October, up 1% from September's NT$3.15 billion and down 4% from the NT$3.3 billion recorded in October 2006.
Wintek's purchase of a third-generation (3G) TFT LCD plant from HannStar Display is expected to be completed in December and significant contribution from the new plant is expected in 2008.
Wintek also recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Phison Electronics to set up a joint venture specializing in digital photo frame production.
