High Tech Computer (HTC) and Brightpoint, a global distributor of wireless devices, have jointly announced that the two companies have entered a distribution agreement under which Brightpoint will provide distribution and customized logistics services to HTC on a global basis.
Pursuant to the agreement, Brightpoint will support the entire range of HTC branded devices and help in the global expansion and penetration of HTC products and services, according to a HTC press release.
The global distribution agreement actually is an extension of the cooperation between the two companies which at the end of 2006 when Brightpoint began to distribute HTC products in the US and Canada, according to sources at HTC.
The global expansion of the partnership with Brightpoint will enable HTC to bring efficient logistics, channel and retail support to its growing global business, HTC CEO Peter Chou was quoted as saying in the press release.
Including its subsidiary Dangaard Telecom based in Europe, Brightpoint shipped 64 million handsets in 2006 through its network of over 20,000 sales outlets, according to HTC sources.
