Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) has denied a recent Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report indicating that the company will build a small- to medium-size LCD module (LCM) plant in Fuzhou, China, according to a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

CPT clarified that it is planning to set up a new small- to medium-size LCM plant but the location of the new site has not been finalized yet.

EDN reported the new LCM plant from CPT will have a monthly capacity of 500,000 units and is expected to begin operations in May or June 2008.
